Mt Mitchell

After a bit of a wrong turn we found the parking section and set off up the mountain. The weather was hot but Paula, Tracey and I were prepared. After our first attempt at bushwalking when we were ATTACKED by leeches (Mar 17) we came ready for anything. We covered ourselves in sunscreen and tropical strength Rid.

The views along the way were spectacular! We kept walking and made it to the top where we picniced in the shade before making our way back to the car.

We were on a tight schedule so I could be back to meet with the neighbours. We pulled in right on time.

It was a great day and although I needed an afternoon kip I am not sore today.

Sunday afternoons continue....Next bushwalk Sat 21 April to Cronan Creek 13km Class 4 (5 hours) We will leave my house at 8am. We should be back around 4-5pm....So this is a whole day activity....promises to be a great day....

Mt Mitchell Wildlife

While on our waalk we spotted some wildlife. This goanna got the fright of his life when we approached and ran up the tree. This amazingly coloured beetle had really had the fright of his life and had died.
